My Cute Little Man!

I am fortunate enough to be blessed with a daughter (seen in posts below and above) as well as a wonderful son, Gunnar. (His newborn picture is to the left) Like my little girl, he is growing up so fast, I can hardly keep up. I have been working on fixing and enhancing my pictures recently, and in doing so I frequently come across pictures from when my kids were tiny. Baby Gunnar still looks like Gunnar, but so different from today. I am really glad that I take so many pictures because without them, I don't think I would remember nearly as many things that have happened in years past. Even just remembering what my kiddies looked like would be more difficult.
Gunnar is learning to talk now, and the way he communicates is sometimes so funny! It probably does not come across the same way in a blog post as it does in real life...oh well. One thing that is funny is that he can actually tell on his sister now. In times past when she would take a toy or something, he would just scream or cry and it was up to Nolan and me to figure out what was wrong. Well now when similar things happen he will pipe up and say "Nie-nah (sienna) tow (toy)" or "Nie-nah, owee". We ran errands recently and on the way home, I asked the kids if they wanted homemade chicken nuggets for dinner and Gunnar started bouncing up and down in his seat and practically shrieked "Nungnet nungnet! dih dih (dinner dinner)!" and started laughing. We all laughed too...it was pretty cute how excited he got at the thought.
He is also good at saying please and thank you ("pwee" & "tih coo") when asking for or receiving things. Although we have used hand gestures (and quite honestly a lot of guessing) it is nice to be able to have some form of verbal communication with him now.
He loves his sister (even when they bicker) and they spend a lot of time together playing and dancing around. He has recently started really mimicking Sienna in what she says or how she is dancing, or if she screams then he feels the need to also. Needless to say, it often gets very loud at our house. Fun, but loud! Sienna has been taking swimming lessons this summer, and of course, Gunnar wants to dive right in and play with his sister in the pool. When we would all go, I could not get him interested in playing with toy cars out on the patio or anything...he wanted to swim. So, sadly for him, he does not go to the pool anymore with us. I have to leave him home with his dad, or with a sitter. I think he will be very good when it comes time for him to take the lessons.

I think it's hilarious that he tells on Sienna now. And I love the chicken nuggets story. He's so cute!
